The mission of Bridge Between Walls is to share the message of Jesus Christ with people of other cultures and religions in the metro Atlanta region.
Bridge Between Walls was formed through Dunwoody Baptist Church’s partnership with Bayo Otiti – a local Nigerian missionary and former practicing Muslim – the ministry focuses on bridging the gap between other religions and Christianity. This is primarily accomplished through one-on-one evangelism that demonstrates the love and grace of Jesus Christ while also providing for the physical and practical needs of individuals and families.
Bayo Otiti was born in Nigeria to a wealthy, prominent Muslim family. By the age of 12 Bayo already finished his recitation of the Quran and was on his way to being one of the diligent ones to carry his family’s name and tradition. As Bayo grew up, he became well known and respected for his practice of his faith.
The turning point for Bayo came when he traveled to the United States to attend the State University of New York Fashion Institute of Technology. There he met his wife they were married in 1969, but things began to fall apart and the couple separated. During their separation, Bayo’s wife accepted Christ. She entered a 40-day period of fasting and prayer with Tabernacle of Prayers for All People and along with their children, continuously prayed for the Lord to save her husband.
Unknowingly, Bayo returned to his family on the 40th day. He was welcomed by his family with joy, forgiveness and the story of how God answered their prayers. Shortly thereafter, Bayo heard the Gospel for the first time and on October 10, 1977 he asked Jesus to be his Lord and Savior.
